In the Studio & Teaching
Bobbie Roberts award winning fine art paintings begin with a photograph of a subject that she finds inspiring. After carefully preparing a canvas she draws the image she wants to paint on it. She lays in background colors and begins developing the subject with studied strokes of paint. As the image develops Bobbie carefully refines the details, developing a realistic interpretation of her subject.
Bobbie enjoys working with oil paints and watercolors. The medium she chooses depends on the character of her subject. She gravitates towards images that have a strong sense of light and shadow, and she thrills to the challenge of depicting reflected sunlight. Bobbie attributes her success at mastering paint to a good work ethic and an appreciation for high standards.
Teaching Introduction to Oil Painting classes is a part of Bobbie’s studio life. She teaches aspiring painters how to prepare canvas surfaces, the fundamentals of paint and brush usage, and how to start and develop a painted image. Bobbie regards these creative building blocks as “the basics for being successful”.
Watching students develop a sense of artistic accomplishment and helping people launch their own creative journeys brings Bobbie great satisfaction. To contact Bobbie and inquire about her classes for beginning painters CLICK HERE.
